Privacy Policy.

This policy explains what data Alpheento collects when you visit our website, fill out a form, or contact us — and what we do with it. Plain English, no legal padding.

Who we are

Alpheento is a building-technology integrator headquartered in Maryville, Illinois. We can be reached through our contact form, by phone at (618) 685-0881, or by mail at Alpheento LLC, Maryville, IL 62062.

What we collect

When you fill out the contact form: your name, email, phone number (optional), your role, your timeline, property or company name, property address, property type, subject, and whatever project details you choose to share.

How you found us (lead source): when you send the contact form, it also includes the first page you visited on our site in that browser session, the website that referred you (its address only, without any query string), and any campaign tags in the link you followed (UTM tags, or a Google Ads click ID). These are kept in your browser's session storage until you close the tab. A copy of the details from your first visit is also kept in your browser's local storage for up to 90 days, so we know which page or campaign first brought you to us if you contact us later. That copy is not kept if you opt out of analytics or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. None of this is sent to us unless you submit the form. We use them to understand which pages and campaigns bring in inquiries.

Spam protection: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to tell real visitors from bots. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and browser data) and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Server and security logs: like any website, our hosting provider and Cloudflare record standard request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We do not collect or store payment information through this website.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics 4 runs by default. It tells us which pages are viewed, for how long, from what type of device, and which website or campaign sent the visit. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to recognize a returning browser. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or to track you across other websites: Google signals and ad personalization are turned off for our site. When you first visit, a small notice at the bottom of the page tells you this and lets you opt out.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: we use Google Consent Mode. For visits from these regions, Google Analytics does not set or read analytics cookies unless you choose OK in the notice; until then Google receives only cookieless signals and no advertising data. Advertising storage and ad personalization are denied for every visitor, everywhere.

How to opt out:

  • Choose Opt out in the notice. We remember the choice in your browser's local storage, Google Analytics stops loading on our site, and we delete its cookies. The choice applies to this browser only.
  • Change your choice at any time: Analytics preferences.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and do not load Google Analytics, unless you later choose OK in the notice on this browser.
  • Or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which blocks Google Analytics on every website.

Cloudflare Web Analytics: we also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which runs on every page. It counts page views and page-load performance without cookies, without local storage, and without identifying individual visitors. The opt-out above and Global Privacy Control apply to Google Analytics only; they do not turn off Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Essential cookies: Cloudflare, which runs in front of our website for content delivery and security, may set strictly necessary cookies (for example, to tell people from bots). Google reCAPTCHA may set cookies on the contact page. These are needed for the site and its forms to work securely.

What we do with it

Forms: your submission is emailed to our inbox, and we may send you an automatic confirmation email. A copy is also saved in a private file on our server (not on the public website), so your request isn't lost if email delivery fails. Submissions flagged as spam are saved there too, so we can check that no real request was blocked. We reply by email, and by phone if you gave us a number. If you become a client, we use your information to deliver the project and maintain the relationship.

Analytics and lead source: we look at aggregate trends to understand which pages are useful, where visitors leave, and which pages and campaigns lead to inquiries. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles about you.

We never sell your information.

Who we share it with

  • Microsoft 365, which hosts our business email, where form submissions and our replies are stored.
  • Mailgun, our email provider, to deliver your form submission to our inbox and send any confirmation email.
  • Google reCAPTCHA, to screen form submissions for spam.
  • Google Analytics 4, which receives the analytics data described above unless you opt out.
  • Google Fonts: our pages load the Inter typeface from Google's servers, so your browser sends Google its IP address and standard request data when fetching the font.
  • Cloudflare, which delivers and protects our website (content delivery, TLS and security filtering) and provides the cookie-free Web Analytics described above.
  • xCloud, our hosting provider, which runs our web server and stores its logs and our private copy of form submissions.
  • Otherwise, no third parties. If that ever changes (for example, if we start using a CRM), we'll update this policy.

How long we keep it

  • Form submissions: each submission is kept in our sales mailbox (Microsoft 365) and in a private lead log on our web server, which is not publicly accessible. We review them and delete inquiries that did not lead to work 24 months after our last contact with you. If you become a client, we keep your information for as long as we work together and as long as we need it for warranty, support, tax and legal records.
  • Email delivery records: Mailgun keeps delivery logs and message data for a limited period under its own retention settings (typically days to weeks), then deletes them.
  • Server and security logs: our web server logs record request details and, for form submissions, only the domain of the email address you entered, not the full address. We rotate and delete them routinely (we aim for no more than 90 days). Cloudflare and our hosting provider keep their own request and security logs for limited periods under their policies.
  • Google Analytics: event-level data is kept for 14 months, then deleted by Google. Reports show aggregate figures only.
  • You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time (see Your rights).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the CCPA in California or the GDPR in the EU), you may have the right to:

  • Know what we have on file about you.
  • Request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Opt out of analytics at any time (see Analytics and cookies); we also honor Global Privacy Control.
  • Opt out of communications by replying to any email or calling us.

To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form or call (618) 685-0881. We respond within 5 business days.

How we protect your data

Form submissions are sent over HTTPS. Our backend runs on a managed cloud host. Access is limited to the owners and staff who need it to deliver service. If we ever have a security incident that affects your information, you will be notified as required by applicable law.

Children

This is a B2B website. We don't market to children and don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy materially, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for active clients, send an email summary.
